Go Ahead….Get Your Shine On!

For many of us, God has truly been amazing, has done some phenomenal things and opened some tremendous doors for us in our lives, but we’ve never shared about it or told anyone about the remarkable things that God has done in our lives.  Failing to mention that the only reason we’ve been given an opportunity to shine, is because of His goodness, grace, and mercy. 

If you were (and notice I said “were”) like me, you may have only shared it with a close few, but kept the magnitude of the blessing and significance of it in your life hidden, while just moving along in life, still filled with His joy, because you know that it was no one, but God that could have moved in your life in such a manner.  For some of us, we don’t share because we’re private people or we don’t want to appear prideful.  Now, I strongly believe that there is a huge difference between sharing God’s blessings upon your life and being prideful.  If you are sharing to totally exalt yourself, then yes, you are being prideful, but if you are sharing to truly show the magnificence of God’s glory upon your life to encourage and empower others, then that is not being prideful.  Actually, the latter is pointing individuals to our faith in Christ, as the key ingredient to our success, understanding that the only reason that we are shining is because He is shining His light on us and through us.

I was thinking about this the other day, if we are to be God’s light in the world, as it states in Matthew 5:16, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven,” how are we truly being His light, if we have kept hidden the good works that He has done in our lives?  How are we giving him glory, with the good works that He has done in our lives, if no one knows that it was The King of Kings, The Lord of Lords, The Alpha and The Omega, and Jehovah Jireh that provided for us these open doors and opportunities?  We are to share His light and His joy in a great way, by using our lives to show others that we are where we are and that we have what we have, all because of God having the audacity to bless us and call us son or daughter.  Can you believe that?!?! He saw fit to identify us as his own and to bless us, so why should be quiet about it?  Why should we shy away from His shine?  You do know that He could have easily chosen to shine His light upon someone else and bless them, but He didn’t.  He chose us!  He chose us to shine His light upon, to show that He is the true gift giver and the true door opener. 

So then…..Get Your Shine On Queen, as long as your remember who you are shining for and where your shine generates from.  Let’s strive on being a band of Liberated Sista’s shining so bright, that it attracts all unto Him, leading a generation to ask, what must they do, to be saved!
