What's your plan?

Now it’s 2010, another year to start off new and shed off all the things not accomplished last year. Honestly speaking, I can say that I had the ability to accomplish most of my goals in 2009 by establishing a plan and adhering to it. This was done by:
1. Writing a list of my goals
2. Praying and asking God for guidance in achieving the goals
3. Having faith and believing that I could achieve them
4. Taking the steps to achieving the goals

I know these steps make it appear easy, but actually it’s not. Staying focused is the hardest thing, especially when other things are going on around you that can easily distract you and/or allow your mind to ponder with the thought of throwing in the towel.

The goal planning process is often something that is not carefully explained or mentioned within the confines of our community, due to the constant glorification of instant gratification. The simple thought that our daily actions depict the future of our offspring and offspring’s offspring should be a truth that is manifested within the minds of our children, but it is not. Teaching them to believe in their dreams can be simply be done by encouraging them to establish a plan and building from that point. This process is the difference between a successful person and an unsuccessful person. Although they may have the same ideas, the successful person will obviously come out on top, due to their strategic planning abilities.

So, in the approaching of the New Year think about the things that you want to accomplish and the steps that are needed to accomplish those things, while remembering that just merely thinking about them and talking about them, actually do little to achieving them.
The road to success isn’t easy, but either is the road to unsuccessfulness. Think about which road you plan on traveling in 2010 and get armored up.

Have a Happy New Year
